Matching the launchpad, there’s a second free app from Novation: the Launchkey app. Launchkey is an analog modeling synthesizer designed primarily for interacting with Novation Launchkey hardwareto provide intuitive and fluid control via the iPad’s touch screen. This actually works very well even with the integrated on-board sounds, so even without connection to an external hardware. If you strike a note on the virtual keyboard, you can then change the sound via Macro-Controller or just flow through the graphical user interface with swipe gestures of one finger to or away from different “nodes”.

Synchronization with launchpad and audio bus support

The game with Launchkey can be synchronized with the Launchpad app. For example, a beat can be started via Launchpad, the user switches to Launchkey at the touch of a button and plays a melody with an activated arpeggiator suitable for the beat. Launchkey also provides support with the Audiobus app so that played tunes can be recorded in Garageband on the iPad, for example.
